The SURFCOM NEX is a versatile measuring instrument designed for efficiency, combining surface texture and contour measurement in one machine. Its key innovations are encapsulated in several important abbreviations: newly-developed Wide-Range Hybrid Detectors (WHRD) with a high Z-axis resolution of 0.0009 μm that eliminate the need for separate measurements; a high-speed Linear Motor Drive (LMD) unit that reduces CNC programming and measurement time; an environmentally resilient capability to operate accurately in a wide temperature range of 20±5 °C; and optional long stylus arms (LH=50/100/150/200 mm) that expand the Z-axis measurement range up to 52 mm without changing the detector.
